Happy 2nd Birthday to Lauren

Has it really been 2 years that you were born?! I can remember it all like it was just yesterday... contractions after taking brother to school, more contractions at grandma's while I waited for your brother, then you just decided that you didn't want to wait any longer and blissfully appeared to us the following day. You have made Juju into the B.E.S.T. big brother, have given grandma and grandpa continued source of energy, and have made our little family complete.

At two years old, Lauren:
  • Weigh 39 lbs (100%) and about 37 inches tall (100%)
  • Wear size 6 diapers, which is the biggest size ~ haha
  • Size 3T shirts/bottoms, size 2T dresses, and size 7 shoe (going on size 8 because 7.5 isn't made for babies)
  • Sleep from 9:00 pm - 7:00 am and take between 1.5 to 2 hour naps.
  • Bedtime routine has not changed, which is bath time, PJs, books, mommy cuddles on the rocking chair, then off to bed in your little corner with your "baby" pink bunny and now a blankie.
  • You are very independent. You are really good at feeding yourself!
  • You love books so much. Sometimes you want to read for 30 minutes before you go to bed.
  • On 7/5, you learned how to "walk" (not climb) upstairs. And a couple of weeks later learned to walk downstairs. You especially like to practice walking downstairs then jumping from the last step. Can we say "mini heart attacks" for mommy and daddy?
  • Your speech is getting better (100+ words) and we are constantly practicing on labeling. Sometimes mommy and daddy didn't realize you knew certain objects (guitar~ only one I could think of for now), which is wonderful!
  • You are saying "Please" (pause) "mama" when you want something ... its really cute!
  • UPDATE 9/5/15: Mommy didn't realize that you can identify numbers and letters!!!!! I am not quite sure which you know so far, but it seems like almost all of them! A, B, C, D, E, G, H, J, M, O, Q, R, S, T, U, W, X, Z. The others I didn't list because we honestly haven't tried them yet. You can identify 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9. THIS IS ONE PROUD MOMMA!!!!
  • You can identify 10 colors, just like Juju at this age! You know: red, orange, purple, pink, blue, green, brown, white, yellow, and black.
  • You LOVE to play with mommy's phone, but we have to monitor usage because you could be on that thing forever if we let you.
  • You are really good at puzzles and some are a bit too easy for you. We need to  move up to the harder ones.
  • You recently have had more interest in playing with your brother's cars or trains, but you still love your dolls ~ not really, but you will hug them momentarily :)
  • You love Tom the Cat (Grandma's cat) and he loves you
  • You have recently started to eat mommy's salad
  • You LOVE to sing, wear hats, climb, jump, being outdoors, and playing with water.
  • You love to draw and that has turned into drawing on anything but paper (sofa, floors, doors, etc)
  • Favorite song: "Wheels on the Bus", you sing this everyyyyyyy day
  • You can identify your main body parts and like to perform "Heads, Shoulder, Knees and Toes" Song
  • You mimic animal sounds: cow, pig, lion/tiger, duck, frog, dog, horse, chicken, goat, monkey, cat, and the infamous "muscle man"
  • Mommy is relishing the fact that you are currently a mama's girl; however, I will admit that you put on this crying show when daddy leaves or walks away. Although it might not last, I will take what I could get because I love you so much!
  • You will be attending preschool at St. Lukes Day School for the first time ever (Th and Fri, 2 year old program) with Ms. Saha and Ms. Muscarello. You met your teachers and a few new friends on 8/27 and you cried because you didn't want to leave. I am not convinced though. We will see how well you do on 9/3, your first day of school.
  • You can count to 10 so far, which is awesome considering I haven't even taught you that.
  • In addition, you can identify a circle, diamond, heart, star, and oval (maybe a square ??). Talk about being shocked! The IPad has come in handy in more ways than I thought!
  • Your brother is seriously your biggest protector. He loves you so much that he even kisses you every night and always asks for another one. He also tells me that he will protect to when he grows up!
  • Mommy and daddy are so crazy about you that it is REALLY hard to say "no" to you. You have us both under your spell.

Daddy's first AND last time telling you "NO"
