We were all quite content with having you in your crib until you were 20, but things just don't work the way mommies and daddies wish. You see, babies grow up too soon and even more so when it happens to be the last baby of the house. Be still my heart, my sweet girl... you were more than ready to get in that big girl bed and embrace the independence. The first night was expected, but why mommy decided to do it on a Monday night (11/27/17~ yes, I recorded the milestone) is beyond anyone's imagination. Mommy knew you were ready, but just didn't think it all the way through. Let's just say you slept a total of maybe 6 hours since you decided that waking up at 3am and not going back to sleep until maybe 5:30ish was a good idea. All traces of baby items are 100% gone. While mommy cries in a corner for a few minutes, you continue to be the Ms. Independent we love!

Lauren is 4!

Lauren,

Thank you for showing us what the meaning of perfect is in our household. We are all far from perfect, but perfect for each other.

At four years old:

Wear size "small" tops & bottoms, size 5T dresses, and size 11 shoe
Weigh 57 pounds (99%) and 40 inches (96%)
You are wearing big girl panties since December 19, 2016, 3 years and 4 months!!!!
You sleep from 8:00ish pm till about 6:30ish am and no longer take a nap.
You are still a Mickey Mouse fan and have added Disneyland to your list of places you have visited!
Went on your second airplane ride on July 7th and you weren't scared of flying but more impatient due to the two hour delay - I do not blame you on this one.
We visited La Jolla Cove, Santa Monica Beach, La Brea Tar Pits, Urban Lights, Griffith Observatory, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure. You and your brother had so much fun!
You are still completely obsessed with anything related to animals!!!
Currently, your favorite show is Canimals.
You still sleep in your crib with the mattress on the floor but by the end of the year you will be promoted to a big girl bed ~ I'm a little nervous about this, but I don't think you will fit in your crib any longer.
You finished your second year of preschool with Ms. Dominguez and Ms. Bravo. You were enrolled in 3 year old program at St. Lukes Day school (M-W from 9:00 - 2:30).
Currently enrolled in Pre-K program at St. Lukes Day school (M 9:30-Noon, T-W from 9:00 - 2:30)
You got your first "official" haircut on January 8,2017. Haircut Blog Entry
Favorite color is purple.
You can tell me what each letter stands for (Ex: A is for Ant)
You know your whole name and your birth date
Random cute fact: you pronounce bathing suit, "babing suit"
You know all your colors, alphabet, numbers 1-20 (because that's all I have taught you)
I taught you only once, left versus right, and you seem to have remembered it!
You know how to rhyme!
You do not like to clean. In fact, you mentioned your hands are too small to help clean. A very very cute reason you were only able to get away with the first time.
You have the absolute cutest fake laugh!!!!!!
This is kinda gross, but you can burp on demand. :-/
You started to write your name this past year, but don't love to write or draw.
You do love to paint and play with stickers.
You are a whiz at puzzles!
You are terrified of any bugs, just like big brother!
Favorite foods: Cheeseburgers, eggs, waffles, cheddar bunnies, watermelon, blueberries, ice cream, and milk.
You are very attached to Julian and have been a little possessive when he is around other kids.
You STILL undoubtedly ADORE your big brother and continue to copy everything he does.
Your 4th birthday party was a "Party Animal" theme at Wonderwild and you had so much fun.
