I know you are probably wondering why the dramatic title of this post, but trust me, this toddler bed change has been one of the more difficult experiences to date. I have read many blogs and baby forums that explain just how common a toddler Julian's age gets out of bed when converted from a crib to a toddler bed, but 60 + times, really?!?!?! Yes, you read that right, 60 + times he got out of bed on night #2 and it was exhausting. I will say that although Daddy has been the most patient, he is also the biggest softie. Not only did he recommend the whole put him back in bed without speaking to him, but he is also the one that lets the little guy crawl back in bed with us at 5:30 this morning because of the cutest sight of Julian tapping his arm with pillow and blankie in tow. That's right, he silently came in while we slept and tapped daddy lightly to let him sleep in the middle. This kid knows how to work his daddy in the cutest ways. Well, honestly had I seen that myself, I seriously don't know if I could have turned him down either. Needless to say, tonight (night #3) was only 15 times of going back and forth, which is not bad at all, but we shall see if he comes back yet again for some cuddling. God I love my baby sooooo much!!!!
Yes, you read it correctly. My little baby has learned to climb out of the crib like a mini Spiderman. With much resistance this weekend and a lot sleepless nights (and yes, mommy should be asleep right now), we have come to the conclusion that we will turn his crib into a toddler bed soon, I mean VERY soon, like next weekend we are going to storage and digging deep for the conversion kit and that's if we last till then. It has been exhausting to say the least, but his determination has gotten the best of us and made us understandably paranoid for sooo many obvious reasons that I don't know how well I will sleep tonight and wonder if he will wake up again tonight like he has the last 3 nights. For some crazy reason I thought those days were over, but I was clearly wrong. My little guy has tested my patience, but he will always be my handsome, sweet, loving, and big baby boy. And maybe a stuntman in the futue, who knows?
These are just a few of his newest addictions. His current favorites in order are Mickey Mouse, Thomas the Train, Yo Gabba Gabba, Winnie the Pooh, Elmo and Super Why (to name a few)...
LOVED his new stuffed Mickey & Pooh
Told you he loves them!
Picked his new underwear out himself, despite Daddy'sefforts to get Marvel comic's underwear.
Hope the potty training with Grandma works since she suggested it! :)
