Lauren's Nursery

Without further ado, here is a peek into our little princess's nursery. Mommy put a lot of effort into the idea, but couldn't have done it without Daddy's help. ACTUALLY, being 8 months pregnant, I just pointed and Daniel executed. What would I do without him, I wouldn't know?! We are all ready for her arrival (especially being pregnant in this summer heat)!

**UPDATE: In case you are wondering (and in my defense) why I am fully stocked on the bows, I found a website selling bows at wholesale prices and couldn't resist. If anyone is interested, here is the website:  http://wholesalegirls.kay-boutique.com/wholesale-hair-bows-hairbows

Baby Shower #2

Well, as it stands, our sweet girl couldn't be more lucky to have all these goodies waiting for her! Traci & Heather threw Lauren a baby shower at La Madeleine and it couldn't have been more perfect. The food and cupcakes were delicious but the company was pure joy. Thank you for the lovely baby shower and all the WONDERFUL and very personal gifts I received. I have such wonderful friends that I am always eternally grateful for!

Loved these!

My lovely hostesses

My sister so graciously came and joined the fun, but was taking all the pictures! :)

Baby Shower #1

Since my family and best friends learned we were expecting a baby girl, I knew she wouldn't fall short of any love and gifts that came her way. Not only did my sister and best friend throw her the most beautiful baby shower (thanks to P'interest), the girl was showered with so many gifts. Thank you to everyone that came to celebrate the impending arrival of our precious girl! The day couldn't have been more perfect!

Julian is Three!

I seriously still can not fathom why time flies by during the most precious years of one's life. Our little boy is three years old. You heard it right, THREE YEARS OLD! Ok, maybe that is just for me to realize that our first born is technically not a baby anymore, although it seems like we baby him even more now. At three years old, Julian is up to a lot of things:

  • Wear size 3T bottoms, size 4T shirts, and size 9.5 shoes
  • Weigh 41 pounds (95 %tile) and about 39 inches tall (93 %tile)
  • We can pretty much bribe you with your favorite chicle. (For all the non-spanish speaking people, that is what "gum" is called in spanish) Its really not gum, but you call it that. Although sometimes grandma gives you gum, which I do not condone, but you don't eat it, so thats good.
  • Still in diapers (size 5, even though size 6 will fit better)
  • We have been trying to potty train for months now, but its very inconsistent, sometimes good and sometimes not so good. I think you aren't ready yet, and although its ok, we would prefer to stop buying diapers at $40 a box. We are very forgiving parents though ;)
  • You are very very articulate in your vocabulary. Everyone can understand you and we get a lot of "Wow, he speaks so much and so clearly" (Proud mommy and daddy)
  • You can be a little dependent on mommy/daddy when it comes to doing stuff for yourself. For instance, you know how to feed yourself, but if we don't spoon feed half your food, you just won't eat since there are more important things to do. (Disclaimer: while we know this is not the best thing, its our perogative and no one else is suffering from our babying, right?!)
  • You know how to put on your shoes, but again you prefer someone else to do it for you.
  • You know how to remove and put on your shorts, but we don't do a lot of practicing on the top. We will work on that eventually. Not a big deal for us.
  • You are absolutely infatuated with keys, STILL! You want to hold everyone's keys and you can be extremely persistent until people cave into your requests or should I say demands. You got your own set of "fake" keys for your birthday which you loved, but that doesn't stop you from asking for the "real" keys.
  • You also still love cars... particularly, the Chevrolet Tahoe. You got your very own Jeep Hurricane for your 3rd birthday that you love!
  • You sleep from 9:45ish pm till about 8:30ish am and take a nap from 2-4 (generally). Not complaining :)
  • Your favorite show is Bubble Guppies (thanks to Heather) and Caillou. You don't have a favorite song, but you are really liking Daddy's taste in music, which is not a terrible thing, but we got in trouble at school since you sing inappropriate songs. Whoops!
  • You have been a very sweet big brother by giving your baby sister kisses on mommy's belly. :)
  • You have been sleeping in your big boy bed since May 6th. Nuff said!!!!!! :)
  • You understand emotions (happy, sad/upset, mad, etc) very well and describe your feelings or our feelings often. For instance, you always say "Mommy is not happy because I am not listening". You understand that you are not listening and it doesn't bother you.
  • You finished your first year of preschool on May 23rd and had a great year. Enrolled in 2 year old program at St. Lukes Day school (Th & Friday from 9:00 - 2:30).
  • Did I mention stubborn?
  • Very loving when you feel like it. Mostly with daddy, but mommy gets some lovin too. :)
  • You love stalling before bedtime. You request for another book, or interrupt me while I read to you, or ask for water, or even ask to go "Tee tee in the potty". Funny how you want to go potty when its bedtime. Sneaky kid!!
  • Are a very very blessed and fortunate little boy to have sooo many people love you and spoil you the way they do.
  • You have a second mommy (Tia Monica), whom I am proud to say loves you just as much as we do and you request to go to her house so you can hold the "Tahoe keys, Honda Keys, and Truck keys"! And yes, she caves into your demands 100% of the time even though they don't have a spare to one car. I can also mention that she decorated for your birthday party with ALL four of your cousin's help, including making cupcakes! Mommy helped, but Tia Monica did all the decorating for you! That my love, means she adores you very much!
  • You are the source of our light and you make our hearts smile with your existence alone.
  • You are the absolute cutest, smartest, and most curious little boy we have the opportunity and blessing of watching grow every single day. We will love you forever and always!
